  Stazione di Topolo - Postaja Topolove, 2010

  I was invited to contribute to the 15th edition of the international art festival Stazione di Topolo/Postaja Topolove. Topolo or Topolove as it is named in Slovenian language, is a small village with a permanent population of only 28 people. Topolo is located on dense forest mountain slopes direct on the border with Italy and Slovenia, North of the city of Udine and Cividale.

  I had made my contributions to the 5th edition of Stazione di Topolo 10 years ago and revisited Topolo in May 2010. While having spend 3 days in this stunning peaceful, beautiful place my attention had led me to 'the water'.
  That is, the many natural springs in the forests and mountains, it's mountain river and waterfalls.

  On July 10th I will contribute a number of events and a performance, all regarding water.
  At first i will distribute 96 glass water bottels labled "Pri Studencu - from spring to mouth" to the people from the village, artists and visitors alike.

  Than I will detect a subterranian water stream by means of dowsing with copper rots and will mark the invisibal stream with wooden pens, on which copper points are attached. Followed by spectators, like in a precession, carrying their empty water bottles, hopefully it will lead us to a spring. When arrived at a spring all can fill their bottles with natural spring water to nourish from.

  Next I will enaugurate the first "Earth Water Institute"- for the love of water" by placing a sign on the wall or door of a typical Topolo house, which from then on will be recognized and communicated to and from in diverse matters regrding water or water related issues.Some time later in 2010, a second and third place where the Earth Water Institute will be established is Ljubljana and Amsterdam.

  Following the enauguration of the Earth Water Institute I will give a public talk on waterfonie, during which I will introduce the new website of waterfonie.
